Coast – Up

Cloud-Based Models for Upgrading Coastal Resilience

PROJECT

Project title: Cloud-Based Models for Upgrading Coastal Resilience

Acronym: COAST-UP

Project code:: Τ2ΕΔΚ-03811

Abstract: The Start-Up Company, Scientia Maris (in Latin <deep knowledge of the sea>), strives to transform scientific knowledge in the maritime field, emerging from Technical Universities, as well as the relevant practical knowledge generated in Engineering Firms, into a commercially exploitable product. The main objective of the Company is the development and distribution of highly accurate and easy-to-use numerical models to the international market, focusing on engineers, state authorities and researchers in, with the ultimate goal to upgrade the coastal communities’ resilience against climate change, coastal erosion and flooding.

The main objective of COAST-UP is the development of 5 numerical models capable of simulating a wide spectrum of natural processes taking place in the coastal zone, aiming to provide a complete simulation package addressing coastal erosion and flooding. These models will be developed with a user-friendly graphical interface and will be made available under the technology of Software as a Service (SaaS), make them instantly accessible and easily implemented by any user around the world.

Innovation software:
• High accuracy and easy use
• Fast simulation
• Cloud-based models – SaaS (Software as a Service)
